Haven Joan Charles, a bright and bubbly 6 year old, was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Haven is the daughter of Mellissa and Brent Charles, she has 2 older amazing brothers, Baylin who is 10 and Korbin, who is 8 and they all live in Emerald Central QLD.

Haven was rushed to the Queensland children’s hospital in Brisbane at the end of May 2023, where she will undergo treatment. Her mum Mel is by her side while her Dad Brent and 2 brothers are still home in Emerald missing them both.

Haven will undergo chemotherapy for roughly 8 months, with ongoing treatments needed over the next 2-3 years.

Mel is one of the kindest people you will ever meet and would never expect help, even when they need it most. Family members, Dean and Emma Charles have set up a go fund me page to help this incredible family through this difficult time. Brisbane is over 800km from Emerald so travelling back and forth isn’t the easiest option and flights aren’t cheap.
